Milford School Carpark Redevelopment & Hard Landscaping
Location
Milford School, Shakespeare Road, Milford Auckland
Role
Construction and Project Managers, Civils and Landscaping
Date
Oct 2020 to Nov 2020
Puddlefish Platt completed the redevelopment of the Milford School carpark and surrounding hard landscaping areas, delivering a practical upgrade that improved site functionality, access, safety, and overall appearance.
The project began with the removal of the existing small asphalt carpark, followed by full site clearance. This included soil excavation, tree removal, root extraction, and preparation of the area for the new carpark layout.
A new foundation was formed using hard fill, with thorough compaction carried out to provide a strong and stable base for the new concrete finish. New cesspits and drainage systems were also installed to manage stormwater effectively and support the long-term performance of the completed works.
The upgraded carpark includes 17 marked parking spaces and one designated accessible parking space. A new concrete pathway with vibrant rainbow line marking was also installed, improving pedestrian visibility, safety, and movement through the area.
To improve access control and site security, new perimeter fencing and barrier arms were installed. Gobi blocks and surrounding hard landscaping were added to strengthen the site, improve durability, and provide a cleaner, more attractive finish.
The completed project reflects Puddlefish Platt’s integrated approach to civil works, drainage, access control, concrete works, and hard landscaping, creating a safer, more functional, and more welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors.
