Puddlefish Platt Ltd completed a roofing remediation and asbestos removal project involving the replacement and repair of significant areas of roofing, Clearlite roofing panels, gutters, and downpipes.
The works included the careful removal and replacement of deteriorated roofing elements to improve the building’s weather protection, drainage performance, and long-term durability. Damaged or end-of-life Clearlite sections were replaced to restore natural light while maintaining weathertightness across the affected roof areas.
As part of the project, asbestos removal was required in several areas of the building. This included asbestos-containing material within sections of the cladding, decommissioned boiler pipework, and ACM downpipes. These works required careful planning, safe removal procedures, and coordination with the wider remediation programme to ensure the site was managed safely and in line with compliance requirements.
In addition to the replacement works, selected areas of existing roofing were chemically washed, water blasted, prepared, and painted. This helped extend the life of the remaining roof areas, improve the overall appearance of the building, and provide a more consistent finish across the site.
The project required careful sequencing of roofing, drainage, painting, and asbestos-related works to maintain site safety and minimise disruption. The completed works improved the building’s weathertightness, safety, and overall condition.
