Boston Road Commercial Building Refurbishment

Puddlefish Platt Ltd completed the full refurbishment of the downstairs area of an older commercial building, upgrading the space to meet Auckland Council compliance requirements and prepare it for new tenants, ECC.
The works began with demolition and strip-out of the existing plumbing, lighting, electrical services, door and window joinery, partitions, ceiling, stairwell, and asbestos vinyl flooring.
The building works included new fire-rated ceiling framing and linings with insulation, infilling an old stairwell, and constructing fire-rated internal partitions and linings for the toilet and sales areas. New windows, doors, and shopfront joinery were installed, along with new plumbing for toilets, sinks, fixtures, and fittings.
Electrical and services upgrades included new cable trays, power outlets, data outlets, LED lighting to the storeroom areas, emergency lighting with sensor switches, and a new security system.
A new ducted HVAC system was installed throughout the lower floor, along with a new Type 4 fire alarm system throughout the building.
The existing concrete flooring was restored and polished, while the blockwork walls were restored and sealed, creating a compliant, functional, and refreshed commercial space ready for tenant use.
